MBE: Wow like I wasn't nervous enough already being up here! (Looks at Stephen)
MBE: Talk, you always talk better

(laughs)

SN: Well, we just want to say thank you to the fans. We work very hard together

SN: And..we enjoy what we do, and we really appreciate your support. I guess that's about it.

MBE: I have a couple of things to say after all...I was just thinking of something

(laughs)

MBE: First I'd like to thank the producers of our show, who are great.

MBE: Especially Shelly Curtis who I feel is our partner.

MBE: And Stephen, my superman (laughs) in the supercouple

MBE: And most of all to my husband Michael, who showed me how to be in a supercouple.

(Awwws from the audience; camera pans to Matthew Ashford clapping)

Stephen's "Outstanding Hero" Acceptance Speech

"Well I thought what I am going to say if they actually give me this award.
So I asked my kids if they thought I was a hero, (laughs) and if they did why...
and my son Aaron who's out there said, 'Because you're uh a good actor and
a good father.' And my daughter Vanessa said, 'Because, well let's see, you go
and visit sick kids in hospitals and maybe you're saving their lives sometimes.'
Which really touched me...and all this wouldn't be possible without the opportunity
I have been given to do this work on the show. And I want to thank the producers
of the show, Al and Shelly. This is my chance to say this, they really do give a lot
to what I do and what Mary Beth and I do together. Without them, some days
we would be nowhere, we don't know where we are some days and they
really pull us through. And I want to thank my wife and my children again for all
the inspiration and the love that they give me. And thank you fans and Soap Opera
Digest."

Matthew Ashford's Acceptance Speech For Best Villain:

Thank you, thank you all the fans out there for believing in me and giving me a
chance I'd like to say that there are two sides to every coin, and uh, I'd like to
thank the producers of Days of our Lives- Al Rabin, Shelly, and Ken for giving
me a chance to show that. Also to my wonderful costars, Stephen and Mary Beth
(camera pans to a smiling Mary Beth) who really gave me the encouragement and
warmth needed to come in and open up and tear them apart (laughs). I'd like to
send a special thank you home to my parents who put up with this little monster
from you know, far and way back and uh a real special I love you to my wife
Christina who has to face me every night (camera pans back to Mary Beth who
is saying "so sweet").
